Swithland Village

Our beautiful village lies in the heart of rural Leicestershire. Famous for its history of slate mining - Swithland enjoys a good community spirit centred on our church, village hall and the local pub - of course!

Walks & Nature

For nature lovers we have parks of natural beauty and forests aplenty. Charnwood forest, Bradgate park and Swithland woods to name a few. We just need the weather to enjoy them.

Leisure & Entertainment

Theatres and cinemas, and much more besides. The Nottingham Royal Centre and the Curve theatre in Leicester offer West End productions and internationally renowned orchestras and artists

Pubs & Restaurants

We have loads of these! - all within easy travelling distance. The Griffin (with The Old Stables) is the local pub (less than 2 minutes stagger from us!). We even have a nearby gin school for a very special experience. 


We are are within easy driving distance of Loughborough, Leicester, Nottingham and Derby. Offering a variety of national and local retailers, shopaholics will not be disappointed. 


From golf to fishing, from football to paintball, from ice hockey to rugby - we have something for everyone! Premier league football is within easy reach in Leicester & Nottingham.
